Terms of Benevolent Dictator(s) 0.1.0
Last updated August 10th, 2025.
Version Zero
Developing our Social Decision Processes will take some time. In order to begin operating in a limited capacity, we are introducing an interim process based on the well-known Benevolent Dictator For Life model.
Key differences:
- We may select multiple "dictators" where available in order to broaden the representation and share responsibilities
- The appointments are not for life, if for no other reason than that this is a temporary process.
Process
- We will select one or several delegates ("dictators") for each Stream.
- Each of the "dictators" will decide who has created some appreciable value during the weekly cycle and notify us.
- We will make decisions effective by contacting those selected to receive disbursement and arranging a manner to transfer funds to them.
Selection
Each delegate will have well-established reputational constraints, meaning someone who is invested in the community and won't "burn their bridges" without losing a great deal of established goodwill.
Subject to Review
We reserve the right to reject any decision we deem damaging to our brand (and likely the reputation of the dictator) and to appoint replacement dictators.
Supplemental
These terms specify behaviors of a Social Decision Process, which is described in the Social Finance Terms. These terms are in addition to the General Terms.
